Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.

The trio have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the last year.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

The champion will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.

The ceremony will be televised from seven in the evening GMT.

The Football Star

Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She entered the fray to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in incredible form as - at just 17 years old - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it inspires more young females to get into cricket."
