Tracking a Venezuelan-affiliated Vessel Reportedly Pursued by American Maritime Authorities

We are analyzing video footage and photographs shared earlier today that purport to show the scene of a reported vehicle-borne explosive blast that authorities in Russia say fatally injured a high-ranking soldier in Moscow.
Russian authorities confirmed that Lt Gen Fanil Sarvarov was inside the car that exploded and that he later died to his wounds. An investigation is under way.
The initial step to check the location of where the images were from was based on posts saying the explosion occurred on Yasenevaya Street in the southern part of the capital city of Russia.
Our analysis employed panoramic mapping services on Google Maps and the local mapping service Yandex Maps to corroborate the unique yellow colour of a adjacent residential complex captured in the footage.
Locating additional buildings, streetlights and the road configuration confirmed where the pictures were taken.
Additionally, we verified that the video clips were recent and that the images had not been manipulated.
